Brian Bell and David Yocum are Professors of the Practice for the School of Architecture and are the co-founders and principals of BLDGS. The firm is a full service architectural practice dedicated to the creation of inventive and enduring works of architecture and urban design. Recent projects include the Van Leer Interdisciplinary Design Commons at Georgia Tech, the Caddell School of Building Construction at Georgia Tech, offices for Bloomberg LP, showrooms and headquarters extension for Steelcase, private residences, and the adaptive reuse of a former paint and body shop into a new synagogue. The work of BLDGS has been published numerous places nationally including the New York Times, and presented at national and international conferences and lectures.
Bell and Yocum's lecture will discuss new work by BLDGS, investigating an architecture of adaptation and context-framing transformations.
