Chris Tromp

Candidate in 2-year Master of Architecture degree program

Favorite thing about being at Georgia Tech: The ability to be apart of a student body that strives to change the world. Everyone at Tech is here for a reason: to be leaders in their fields of study. I truly believe that Georgia Tech is providing me with diverse, multi-disciplinary, and specialized knowledge to lead the change towards a more sustainable future.

Why did you decide to study architecture? I have always been interested in “architecture” since I was a young boy as I would help my father and grandfather with simple projects around the house in conjunction with an overall curiosity in spaces: how they work, why they are a certain way, how you feel in different types… This led to me pursuing a self-guided architecture study in high school which informed my decision to study at Georgia Tech. To be honest, I was not completely sure that I wanted to be an architect, but once I became engaged in the education here at Tech, I fell in love with the field. I knew after my first year that architecture was what I wanted to do and my passion has deepened ever since.
