Niles Bolton Professor of Practice

The School of Architecture at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for the position of The Niles Bolton Professor of Practice. This position is made possible by a generous endowment by Georgia Tech alumnus Niles Bolton, founding partner of Niles Bolton Associates in Atlanta. This position is for a distinguished practitioner who has an established record in industry leadership with a focus on innovation in professional practice. Prior teaching experience is desirable, but not a requirement.

Description

This position will be appointed as a non-tenured rank Professor of Practice in the School of Architecture. The terms of residency and length of appointment is three to five years. Responsibilities include teaching professional practice courses along with other courses that could include building technology or design studios at the graduate level. The position is also expected to play a key role in re-envisioning the school’s academic curriculum and research initiatives around professional practice. The College of Design’s five Schools and five research centers provide a rich multi-disciplinary creative environment with access to both the technological resources of a top research institution and the opportunities and challenges of Atlanta. Requirements

Required qualifications for the position include a Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) or equivalent degree and a minimum of 15 years of architectural practice with a proven record of impact on the profession.
