A Syntax for the Dense and Sustainable Metropolis: The Case of Berlin-Brandenburg

Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 4 p.m. EST

You are invited to join us for a lecture and open Q&A by Wilfried Wang, O'Neil Ford Centennial Professor in Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin and partner with Hoidn Wang, Paul Rogers, senior partner at Buro Happold in Berlin, and John Peponis, professor with the Georgia Tech School of Architecture.

This lecture will discuss 21BB―Model Region Berlin-Brandenburg: Analyses and Visions for the 21st Century by Barbara Hoidn and edited by Wilfried Wang.  Our presenters will share the Berlin-Brandenburg competition entry and discuss the interrelationships between practice, research, and teaching as they brought the project to life. They will also share insights about sustainability principles that should drive urban design beyond green energy and the crucial role of fundamental research of spatial analysis, and their linkage too the Berlin-Brandenburg project.

This event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to attend.
