Biography
Jake Tompkins is a designer and fabricator who began working at Georgia Tech in 2012. After graduating with his Master of Industrial Design he worked in a variety of factories, traditional shops, and digital fabrication shops around both Atlanta and Lexington, KY. Jake and his wife Juliann are practicing artists and sculptors, both having won grants around Atlanta for temporary and permanent installations. Some of Jake's proudest accomplishments while managing the Digital Fabrication Lab are the permanent and long term installations that he has helped guide through the Lab. The Hinman Courtyard and “The Veil” being prominent examples of both.
