Biography

An Atlanta native, Anna Kiningham is a registered architect with more than 7 years of professional experience. Her work is guided by an ambition to respond to evolving means of communication, business, and habitation, while creating spaces for people to gather, reflect, and flourish.

As a student, Anna served as President on Georgia Tech’s Equity in Architecture board, and in her professional practice has grown devoted to multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural collaboration to promote empathetic and equitable design strategies.

Now, Anna’s teaching and design explorations prioritize equity in the built environment and strive to afford people the agency to appropriate space as their own. Her design approach is fueled by a passion for local place-making and community building, guided by each project's cultural context and historical significance.

As a practicing architect and interior designer, her experience is multiscalar, from graphics and furniture design to single-family homes, hospitality, education, and adaptive reuse redevelopments. Her professional interests extend beyond design work, into the business of architecture and a passion for mentorship.

When she is not trekking around to new cities with her camera, you can catch her cruising on her bicycle across the southeast or tromping in the North Georgia mountains.
